We have had a lot going on here on the farm this year, but it has been a great year overall! We have made a lot of animal additions as well as improvements and cleaning up around the place. All the barns have big sliding doors (finally!) and we have gotten most of the fencing up and in order. We finally have a tractor which has improved the farm life immensely.
Gracie's babies are doing great and will be ready for their new homes very soon, they were fun but we don't plan on having more. We just plan to enjoy Gracie and couldn't imagine the farm life without a little pig running around. We still have 1 girl and 2 boys that need a home.
We have added a wonderful 9 month old Anatolian Shepherd livestock guardian dog named Rosie and we just love her. We are very pleased with her so far and are excited to have the extra protection. We will be bringing home a young half brother of hers next week as they work best in pairs.
All the bottle calves have finally been weaned and they will be banded and castrated soon. We plan to keep Arthur to eat and the others will be sold next year. We are not sure if Clover is bred or not this year but we could be expecting a swedish red X calf from her in 2017. We are not expecting any zebu calves until 2018 but we will have baby goats!
